The Challenges of Writing a Book! Women Take the 10 Minute Survey on American Women.

From novelists to biographers, so many people look at the idea of writing a book but few deliver on their promise, even to themselves. I have met three amazing women who are making their vision a reality while helping women discover they are not alone in the many challenges of “Being a Wife”.

Two women, who knew each other in their lives as marketing executive to creative writer, joined together with a licensed counselor to develop the concept of breaking the stereotype of wives, what they do and what they say.

The book starts with a working title: The truth about wives – and is a look inside the truths, secrets and insights of today's wives.

Based on more than 400 online surveys and in-depth interviews, this book gives wives a chance to glimpse inside the lives of other wives, their truths (for example what they don't like about being wives), the secrets they keep from their husbands and the insights they bring to marriage; most of it with a hint of humor. A female, counselor specializing in women's issues, offers empowering and helpful words to help wives deal with the many issues facing them today.

The project, I believe has so much potential because of the three Power Women who are involved in the process:

Three authors, three different passions:

Sue Silva: Even though I work in a very creative business, advertising, I’ve never been struck by an idea like I was by this one. It originated out of a personal experience, which, I assume, is the reason why I’m so passionate about it. Now, every time a survey comes in, every time a woman tells us her story, every time I see an amazing quote, it feeds my passion for this project. I have to write this book to share all those stories, experiences and emotions. It would be impossible not to.

Cheryl Maher: I think that we, as women and wives, are so fascinating and have so many dimensions that it is hard for us to keep up with ourselves and our ever changing emotional and physical environments. My passion for this book comes from wanting to enrich all of our lives with stories from wives like us, research insights to help us get to know ourselves better and lastly help shed some light on the “why” behind our emotions and provide new ways to look at ourselves, our lives and our husbands.

Lisa Sommer (Licensed Counselor): I have always wanted to share my story with other women, wondering if there could be common themes to our life experiences, such as the joy and pain of motherhood or the joy, pain and disillusionment of being a wife, through writing a book. Now the surveys and the data we are collecting appear to be weaving a fabric from which to write about the lives of women as they are taking their journeys as women, wives and mothers. What an amazing opportunity for me, as I approach the latest chapter of my life that of a 55+ year old baby boomer.

Yes, I believe this project will be an amazing success. The authors “the marketeers” will be presenting this project to literary agents and publishers over the next few months. I expect to see this one on the Amazon best seller list very soon!

I look forward to sharing the story of many more authors and aspiring authors in our future.
